Starting from the Basic

Áo dài in Vetnamese literally means "long shirt" or "long tunic. Áo dài (pronounced “ow zai” in the north, “ow yai” in the south) consists of two elements: a long tunic with a close-fitting bodice, mandarin collar, raglan sleeves, and side slits into two flaps, a front and back panel from the waist down; and wide-legged pants, often cut on the bias. The hugging top of the costume reaches to the ground, making it very sensual and flatters every figure for those who wear the áo dài.
